Rising from the Ashes

Perhaps we should rename it the Phoenix Brewing Company…

After five six Seven long years (and three Escrows!), We have purchased the property, and are working on reviving the former Boulder Creek Brewery and Restaurant, a local icon and cornerstone of fine craft beer, and a known and respected “Foodie” establishment, attracting people from far and wide to Boulder Creek to quaff, dine, and enjoy fine musical entertainment.

The website for the legendary former incarnation of the location, is still up, and here at: bouldercreekbrewery.net

It was destroyed by fire on March 29, 2015, leaving (after much forensic inspection and cleanup by the former owners) only a shell of four walls, a damaged floor, and a basement full of fire-damaged debris, and ruined equipment and electrical wiring.

Progress

So far, we have made great strides with further cleanup from the fire damage, new (Minimal, waterproof for construction) electrical, new secure doors, new planning, design, engineering, permits, brewery layout, and more underway - [UPDATE:] Septic and Wastewater planning now in 2023.

The project is definitely an ongoing challenge, and has involved re-engineering the former plans, designing the brewing area, adding a sound room / offices / concert stage, and trying to fit the project into a smaller budget than the previous owner had, in 2015.

We are still retaining portions of the formerly-planned new and expanded floor-plan of the restaurant, with a 2nd floor and exposed two-story tanks (And the new performance stage).

As of 2023, we are working through the Septic and Wastewater issues with the County and the CA State Water Board, which are tricky considering the proximity to the river, and the approvals have changed since 2015. We will likely need to install a new septic system or upgrade ($$$), but the good news is this will likely allow us to increase the restaurant and brewing capacity.

Community Support and Updates

We have already gotten unanimous and unprecedented support from the local community, and all the people we have spoken with about the project - and there is a great article about us in the San Lorenzo Valley Post: slvpost.com/a-new-boulder-creek-brewery

Not only that, but as of 2023, we have now had two other local Brewers and Brewery Owners, both of whom used to work at the former Boulder Creek Brewery, pledge their ongoing help and support!

We’ll keep you posted on the progress, here on this wesite, and on our mailing list.
